            Whatever topic you have chosen for your make it better project the chances are there as an organisation or group of people who are specialists or interested in that particular subject. It might also be that there is expertise within the school and you might be able to ask a teacher for particular help or guidance. You would be surprised how willing people are to respond if you contact them appropriately. The reason why people and organisations create websites is to allow them to make connections with people who are interested or concerned about the sorts of issues that they are. This means that they will be only too willing to respond and pass on their expertise. Your request for help is more likely to be responded to if you take care to write an appropriately polite and formal e-mail.

            If my chosen topic was litter in schools it might be that I would send an e-mail to the contact details at the organisation underneath. They might have resources or ideas that would really help my project. With a bit of sensible searching you should be able to find organisations that would be willing to help you.
